A slanted serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and a lively, calligraphic rhythm. Serifs are bracketed with crisp, beak-like terminals, and many forms end in rounded ball terminals, giving strokes a sculpted, inked feel. Capitals feel sturdy and slightly compact while remaining open, and the lowercase shows fluid joins and clear counters with a consistent forward lean. Numerals follow the same contrasty construction, mixing curved bowls with firm, tapered entry and exit strokes for a cohesive text-and-display voice.

Well-suited to magazine and newspaper-style typography, book covers, and pull quotes where strong contrast and a lively italic voice add emphasis. It also works for refined branding and event materials that benefit from a classic serif tone with extra energy, particularly at display sizes and short-to-medium text settings.

The tone is assertive and polished, with an old-style editorial flavor that reads as traditional yet energetic. Its combination of sharp terminals and rounded balls adds drama without becoming decorative, suggesting authority, refinement, and a touch of theatricality.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional serif foundation with an expressive italic character—balancing tradition with heightened contrast and distinctive terminals. It prioritizes a confident, attention-holding texture while maintaining recognizable, readable letterforms for editorial and branding contexts.

The italics are integral to the design rather than a simple slant: curves carry an oblique stress, diagonals feel springy, and terminals vary between pointed and rounded endings to keep texture animated. In longer lines the texture is strongly patterned, with prominent contrast creating a vivid typographic color.
