A high-contrast serif with a pronounced italic slant and crisp, bracketed serifs. Strokes show strong thick–thin modulation, with wedge-like terminals and tapered joins that create a lively, slightly calligraphic rhythm. Uppercase forms are sturdy and compact, while the lowercase is more fluid and varied, with rounded bowls, a single-storey “a,” and a distinctive “g” and “y” that lean into the italic motion. Numerals match the weight and contrast of the letters, with rounded forms (notably 8 and 9) and sharp, serifed entry/exit strokes.

Well-suited to book and magazine typography where an italic is used for emphasis, quotations, or section leads. It also performs strongly in headlines and subheads that benefit from a classic serif voice with noticeable motion. The weight and contrast make it particularly effective for pull quotes, titling, and other editorial moments where character and authority are desired.

The tone feels traditional and authoritative, with an energetic italic voice that reads as expressive rather than ornamental. It suggests printed editorial typography—serious and established—while retaining a bit of momentum and flair in running text.

The design appears intended as a conventional text serif with a more assertive, expressive italic presence—balancing traditional proportions with energetic stroke modulation and sharp serifing to create a confident editorial tone.

Spacing and letterfit appear calibrated for continuous reading, with clear word shapes and a consistent baseline rhythm. The design favors sharp, angled details and tapered terminals over softness, giving it a crisp, ink-on-paper character at display sizes and emphasis text.
