A heavy, high-contrast serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and crisp, bracketed wedge serifs. Curves show a vertical stress and tight internal counters, while joins and transitions are sharply defined, producing a sculpted, print-like texture. Capitals are broad and monumental with sturdy horizontals and strongly tapered diagonals; lowercase features compact bowls, a two-storey “g,” and distinct ball terminals (notably on “a” and “y”). Numerals are similarly weighty and compact, with clear traditional forms and strong top serifs on figures like “1” and “7.”

Best suited to headlines, deck type, and pull quotes where its weight and contrast can carry impact. It also works well for editorial branding, mastheads, and packaging labels that benefit from a traditional, premium voice; for longer text, it will perform most comfortably at larger sizes where counters have room to breathe.

The overall tone is confident and institutional, with a classic editorial feel. Its dramatic contrast and dense color read as formal and authoritative, lending a sense of tradition and seriousness without becoming ornamental.

The design appears intended to deliver classic serif credibility with heightened contrast and bold presence, bridging robust display impact with familiar book/press conventions. The shaping emphasizes strong verticals, crisp serifs, and distinctive terminals to create a memorable, authoritative texture.

Because of the tight counters and strong contrast, the face builds a dark, emphatic typographic color. The rhythm is steady and slightly compressed in the lowercase, and the terminals and serifs give a distinctly crafted, old-style-meets-display impression.
