A high-contrast serif with strongly bracketed, wedge-like serifs and crisp, tapered joins. Round letters show pronounced thick–thin modulation and slightly calligraphic stress, while verticals stay firm and commanding. Terminals often finish in small ball or teardrop forms (notably in the lowercase), giving the design a refined, slightly traditional texture. Proportions are moderately wide with generous bowls and clear counters; the lowercase follows conventional text rhythms with sturdy stems and compact, well-defined apertures.

Well-suited to headlines and subheads in magazines, journals, and other editorial layouts where contrast and serif detail can carry the page. It can also support book covers, section openers, and brand wordmarks that aim for a traditional, prestigious voice. For longer text, it will read best with comfortable spacing and sizes that preserve the delicate hairlines.

The overall tone is classic and editorial—confident, formal, and a touch bookish. The sharp serifs and sculpted contrast convey authority and tradition, while the soft terminal details add polish rather than severity.

The design appears intended as a conventional text serif with a display-ready edge: traditional letterforms and bracketed serifs paired with assertive contrast to deliver clarity, gravitas, and typographic sophistication.

The numerals appear oldstyle (with ascending and descending forms), reinforcing a book-typography feel. In display sizes the thick–thin transitions and sharply shaped serifs become a key visual feature, producing a strong, structured rhythm across words and lines.
