A high-contrast serif with sharp, triangular wedge serifs and frequent spurs that create a forked, engraved-like texture. Strokes show a strong thick–thin rhythm with pointed joins and tapered terminals, giving many letters a sculpted, chiseled silhouette. Curves are compact and slightly pinched at transitions, while horizontals feel crisp and deliberate; counters tend to be fairly tight, contributing to a dense color in text. The lowercase forms are sturdy and traditional, with a prominent two-storey a and a hooked, descending j; numerals follow the same carved logic with pronounced wedges and tapered ends.

Best suited to headlines, magazine/editorial titling, book covers, and brand marks where the spurred wedge detail can be appreciated. It can work for short paragraphs or pull quotes when set with generous size and leading, but it will be most at home in display and prominent text settings.

The overall tone is theatrical and old-world, evoking classic book typography filtered through a more decorative, dramatic lens. The sharp wedges and mid-stem spurs add a sense of ceremony and intensity, making the face feel authoritative rather than casual.

The design appears intended to modernize a classic serif model by amplifying contrast and adding ornamental spurs and wedge serifs, producing an engraved, ceremonial voice that stands out in titles and identity work.

At display sizes the spurs and pointed terminals read as distinctive ornament; in longer passages they also increase visual texture and darkness, especially around joins and vertical stems. The design’s contrast and tight apertures suggest careful spacing will matter for comfortable reading at smaller sizes.
