A roughened serif with typewriter-like proportions and an uneven, ink-worn texture throughout. Strokes are fairly sturdy with subtly flared terminals and small slabby serifs, while edges appear chipped and irregular as if printed on absorbent paper or from a worn ribbon. Counters stay open and readable, but many interior shapes show small bite marks and blotting that create a lively, imperfect rhythm. Letter widths vary naturally and spacing feels workmanlike rather than mechanically uniform, reinforcing the analog, distressed impression.

Best suited to headlines, titles, and short passages where a worn printed character is desirable—posters, book and magazine covers, album art, packaging, and themed signage. It can also work for pull quotes or display text in editorial layouts when you want an aged, analog voice without sacrificing basic legibility.

The overall tone is gritty and retro, suggesting archival documents, pulp covers, or utilitarian labeling that has seen handling and age. Its roughness reads as intentional and expressive rather than chaotic, giving text a cinematic, slightly ominous mood with a handmade authenticity.

The design appears aimed at recreating the feel of imperfect letterpress or typewriter output—ink spread, chipped edges, and uneven imprint—while keeping familiar serif structures for readability. It balances a utilitarian skeleton with deliberate wear to deliver an immediately period-evocative texture.

The distressing is consistent across capitals, lowercase, and numerals, so the texture becomes part of the color of the paragraph at reading sizes. At larger sizes the chipped edges and ink buildup become the main personality feature, while at smaller sizes it compresses into a darker, speckled text tone.
