A robust serif with bracketed serifs, sturdy verticals, and rounded, softly cupped terminals. Curves are generous and somewhat compact, giving counters a slightly tightened feel, while joins stay smooth and controlled. The capitals are wide and stable with strong horizontals (notably in E/F/T), and the overall rhythm reads dense and even. Lowercase forms keep a traditional structure with a two-storey a, a looped g, and a relatively short, firm-shouldered r; numerals are substantial and old-style in feel with pronounced curves and weighty tops.

Well suited to editorial headlines, book and magazine titling, pull quotes, and other display settings where a classic serif voice and strong presence are needed. It can also serve for short-to-medium passages when a darker, more emphatic text color is desirable, such as in brochures, programs, and formal branding materials.

The tone is traditional and authoritative, suggesting editorial seriousness and institutional credibility. Its heavy, confident presence leans formal rather than delicate, with a familiar bookish character that feels established and dependable.

The design appears intended as a conventional, traditional serif with extra presence—prioritizing a familiar reading structure while delivering a confident, high-impact texture for prominent typography.

At larger sizes the rounded terminals and bracketing become more noticeable, adding warmth to an otherwise disciplined texture. In continuous text the strong stroke weight produces a dark color, favoring clear hierarchy and emphasis.
