This is a high-contrast italic serif with a pronounced rightward slant and crisp, bracketed serifs. Strokes show clear thick–thin modulation with tapered entry/exit terminals, producing a lively, calligraphic rhythm without becoming overly decorative. Capitals are relatively narrow and upright in proportion, with sharp apexes and fine hairlines, while lowercase forms keep a steady x-height and italic construction (single-storey a, flowing f, and a looping j). Numerals follow the same contrast and slant, with open counters and elegant curves that read well at text sizes.

Well-suited for editorial settings such as magazine features, book typography, and long-form reading where an elegant italic voice is needed for emphasis. It also fits formal materials—programs, invitations, and refined branding—especially in headlines, pull quotes, and subheads where the contrast can be appreciated.

The overall tone is traditional and cultivated, evoking book typography and classic editorial design. Its strong contrast and disciplined italic angle communicate sophistication and formality, while the subtle calligraphic touches add warmth and motion.

The design appears intended as a conventional, high-contrast text italic that balances traditional serif structure with a calligraphic slant for expressive emphasis. Its proportions and consistent rhythm suggest it was drawn to perform in continuous reading while still delivering a distinctly elegant, classic character.

The italic is assertive: hairlines get very fine, and diagonals and curves create noticeable sparkle in running text. Letterfit appears moderately open for an italic, helping maintain readability while preserving a distinctly stylized, editorial color.
