A conventional serif with bracketed, wedge-like serifs and a moderately modulated stroke that stays even enough for text while still showing a calligraphic underlying stress. Proportions are balanced with round, open bowls and clear internal counters; curves are smooth and terminals tend toward softly sheared or tapered finishes rather than blunt cuts. Capitals feel stately and slightly wide in presence, while the lowercase maintains a steady rhythm with sturdy stems, clear ascenders, and rounded joins. Numerals are lining and sturdy, with traditional shapes that match the overall text serif tone.

It is well suited to body copy in books, magazines, and other editorial layouts where an even reading rhythm and familiar serif forms are preferred. It can also serve effectively for headings, pull quotes, and institutional communications when a classic, dependable typographic voice is desired.

The overall tone is traditional and bookish, with an editorial calm that reads as established and trustworthy. Its restrained contrast and familiar serif detailing give it a composed, slightly formal voice suited to long-form reading and institutional settings.

The design appears intended as a general-purpose text serif: conservative in construction, comfortable in continuous reading, and harmonized across uppercase, lowercase, and numerals. Its mix of traditional proportions and clean, bracketed serif finishing aims to provide clarity without drawing attention away from the content.

The italic is not shown, but the roman exhibits consistent serif treatment across caps, lowercase, and figures. Letterforms like the two-storey “a” and “g” and the softly bracketed serifs reinforce a conventional text-family character, while the sharpness of the serifs keeps the texture from feeling overly soft.
