A sturdy serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and strongly bracketed wedge serifs. Curves are generously rounded with slightly flattened transitions, giving counters a calm, open feel while maintaining a dense, confident color. Terminals frequently finish in teardrop/ball-like forms (notably on curves and some lowercase), and joins show subtle notch-like shaping that adds crispness at small details. The lowercase is compact and steady, with a two-storey a and g, a tall, straight-sided t, and a rhythm that reads firmly in text.

Well-suited to book and long-form editorial settings where a traditional serif texture is desired, and it also performs strongly for headlines and subheads that benefit from firm contrast and sculpted terminals. The weight and detailing make it a good fit for heritage-leaning branding and packaging that wants a classic, authoritative impression.

The overall tone is formal and established, with a bookish, editorial voice. Its strong contrast and sculpted detailing project seriousness and tradition, while the rounded bowls and soft bracketing keep it from feeling brittle or overly sharp.

The design appears intended as a conventional, highly legible serif with a robust, print-forward presence, balancing classic letterform construction with expressive terminals and carefully shaped joins to create a distinctive but familiar reading texture.

Uppercase forms are broad and stable with classic proportions, and the numerals appear oldstyle with varying heights and some descending forms, reinforcing a traditional text flavor. Spacing in the sample paragraph looks even and deliberate, supporting continuous reading while preserving a distinctly weighty presence.
