A serifed, old-style roman with visibly rough, irregular outlines that mimic worn printing or a dry, uneven ink impression. Strokes show subtle swelling and tapering, with softly blunted terminals and slightly ragged edges that create a lively, broken contour without collapsing the letterforms. Proportions feel traditionally bookish with moderate ascenders/descenders, and spacing appears a touch uneven in a natural, hand-printed way, producing an organic rhythm in text. Numerals and capitals carry the same distressed texture, keeping the set visually consistent.

Works best for display and short-to-medium text where a vintage, printed-on-paper feel is desired—such as book covers, chapter titles, posters, labels, and period-leaning editorial layouts. It can also add character to branding and packaging that aims for artisanal or heritage cues, particularly when paired with simple supporting type.

The overall tone is aged and tactile—evoking vintage paper, letterpress texture, and a gently weathered, historical mood. It reads as human and handcrafted rather than precise, lending warmth and grit that can feel folksy, literary, or lightly ominous depending on context.

The design appears intended to deliver a classic serif reading structure while intentionally introducing distressed, imperfect edges to suggest age, wear, or rough printing. Its goal is to balance familiarity and legibility with a strong, tactile texture that adds atmosphere.

Texture is strong enough to be a defining characteristic, especially at larger sizes, where the frayed edges and irregular stroke boundaries become prominent graphic elements. At smaller sizes, the roughness softens into a dark, slightly noisy color, so generous size and contrast help preserve clarity.
