A high-contrast serif with crisp, bracketed serifs and pronounced modulation that gives strokes a distinctly calligraphic stress. The letterforms are generously proportioned with open counters and a steady, upright rhythm, balancing sharp entry/exit cuts with occasional ball-like terminals (notably in the lowercase). Uppercase forms feel stately and sculpted, while the lowercase shows traditional text-face details such as a double-storey “g” and “a,” a wedge-like “t” terminal, and firm, vertical stems that hold up well at display sizes.

Well suited to long-form editorial settings such as books and magazines, especially where a traditional serif voice is desired. The strong contrast and refined finishing also make it a good choice for headlines, pull quotes, title pages, programs, and formal stationery where elegance and authority are priorities.

The overall tone is traditional and cultivated, evoking book typography, established institutions, and classic print. Its contrast and sharp finishing add a touch of drama and sophistication, making it feel more formal than neutral, yet still familiar and readable.

Designed to deliver a conventional text-serif foundation with elevated contrast and meticulous serif detailing, aiming for a classic, print-first reading experience. The inclusion of oldstyle numerals and lively terminals suggests an intent to harmonize text and figures while retaining a distinctly literary, established character.

The numerals appear oldstyle, with varied heights and lively curves that blend naturally with running text. Curved letters like C, G, and S show a smooth, controlled tapering, and the punctuation and dots read cleanly and solidly at larger sizes.
