A robust serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and compact, weighty silhouettes. Serifs read as wedge-like and slightly flared, with smooth bracketing into the stems and sharp, clean terminals. Counters are relatively tight for the weight, while round letters maintain steady curvature; the overall rhythm is assertive and dense, with strong vertical stress and crisp joins. Details like ball terminals and carefully shaped cross-strokes add a sculpted, typographic finish that stays consistent across caps, lowercase, and figures.

Well suited to display roles where strong typographic personality is desired: headlines, pull quotes, magazine or journal titling, and book-cover typography. It can also work for short blocks of text in refined layouts, where its dark color and crisp contrast are leveraged intentionally.

The font conveys a confident, traditional tone with an editorial, bookish seriousness. Its dark color and high-contrast detailing feel authoritative and polished, suggesting gravitas rather than casual friendliness.

The design appears aimed at delivering a classic serif voice with extra punch: traditional proportions and stress paired with flared, sculpted endings to increase impact in display settings. It prioritizes authoritative presence and typographic texture over neutrality.

At larger sizes the distinctive terminal shapes and flared serif behavior become a defining texture, producing a dramatic, ink-on-paper presence. In longer lines the heavy color and tight apertures can read intense, so spacing and size choices will strongly influence perceived clarity.
