A conventional serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and crisp, tapered terminals. Serifs are bracketed and relatively sharp, creating a clean, engraved feel without becoming spiky. Capitals are broad and steady with generous internal space; curves (C, G, O, Q) are smooth and weighty, while diagonals (V, W, X, Y) are firmly cut with controlled contrast. Lowercase shows a double-storey a and g, compact apertures, and confident joins; the ear and beaks are restrained rather than decorative. Numerals follow the same high-contrast logic with clear, sculpted forms and emphatic verticals.

Well-suited to long-form editorial typography such as books, journals, and magazines, where its classic serif structure and clear rhythm support continuous reading. The heightened contrast and confident capitals also make it effective for display settings—headlines, pull quotes, and refined brand wordmarks—especially in print-oriented layouts.

The overall tone is authoritative and editorial, projecting tradition and polish. It reads as serious and refined, with a slightly dramatic contrast that adds prestige while staying conventional enough for sustained reading.

The design appears intended as a polished, traditional text serif with elevated contrast for a more upscale, print-classic voice. It balances familiar letterforms with sharper finishing details to deliver a composed, premium editorial texture.

Stroke endings frequently taper to fine points on horizontals and diagonals, giving words a crisp rhythm in text. Round letters maintain strong hairlines that can appear delicate at smaller sizes, while the sturdier vertical stems keep the page color dark and composed.
