A high-contrast serif with strongly bracketed serifs, vertical stress, and a sturdy, dark color on the page. Stems are straight and upright while bowls and shoulders are smoothly sculpted, producing a crisp rhythm with pronounced thick–thin transitions. Counters are moderately open, and many joins feel carved rather than geometric, with subtle flaring into serifs. The lowercase shows compact, traditional forms with a two-storey “a” and “g”, a small, round i/j dot, and a slightly calligraphic taper in letters like “c”, “e”, and “s” that reinforces the contrast.

Best suited to display and editorial settings where contrast and a strong typographic presence are desirable—headlines, pull quotes, book covers, magazine titles, and formal posters. It can also work for short blocks of text when set with comfortable size and spacing to preserve counter clarity.

The overall tone is traditional and confident, with a distinctly bookish, editorial character. Its sharp contrast and formal serif finishing communicate seriousness and refinement, leaning toward classic print typography rather than casual or utilitarian voice.

The design appears intended to deliver a classic text-serif voice with heightened contrast for impact, balancing traditional letterforms with a polished, contemporary sharpness for prominent reading and branding contexts.

At heavier sizes the contrast and tight interior spaces create a dense, impactful texture, while the crisp serifs help maintain letter separation in headings. Numerals follow the same classic, high-contrast construction, with prominent curves and clear vertical emphasis.
