A traditional serif with strong thick–thin modulation and sharply defined, bracketed serifs. Strokes show a subtly calligraphic construction: curved joins, tapered entry/exit strokes, and wedge-like terminals that add a carved, slightly faceted feel. Capitals are sturdy and wide-set with prominent serifs, while lowercase forms keep a moderate x-height and open counters, maintaining legibility despite the high contrast. Numerals and punctuation follow the same crisp, sculpted rhythm, giving the design a cohesive, print-oriented texture.

It performs best at display and headline sizes where the contrast and serif detailing can read cleanly, making it well-suited to editorial layouts, book titling, and magazine typography. In branding, it can convey heritage and confidence, especially for institutions, publishing, or premium products.

The overall tone is classic and authoritative, with an editorial seriousness that reads as established and trustworthy. Its high-contrast detailing and emphatic serifs add a slightly dramatic, literary flavor, suitable for refined but assertive typography.

The design appears intended to modernize a classic serif voice by combining conventional proportions with more sculpted, calligraphic terminals and assertive contrast. The goal seems to be a readable, familiar text foundation with enough personality to stand out in editorial and display applications.

The font’s rhythm is driven by pronounced vertical stems and fine connecting hairlines, producing a lively dark–light pattern in text. Terminals on letters like a, c, e, and s show distinctive tapered endings, contributing to a slightly ornamental edge without leaving the conventional text-serif lane.
