A high-contrast serif with bracketed wedge-like serifs and a distinctly calligraphic modulation. Curves show a noticeable diagonal stress, with rounded bowls and tapered terminals that sharpen into fine hairlines at joins and endings. Proportions feel traditional and slightly compact, with sturdy verticals balanced by elegant thin strokes; the set maintains consistent color while allowing natural width variation across letters (notably wide capitals like W and narrower forms like I). Numerals appear oldstyle in character, mixing ascenders and descenders for a bookish rhythm.

Well suited for book typography, essays, and editorial layouts where a classic text serif is expected and high contrast can be supported by adequate size and printing/screen quality. It can also serve refined brand systems, headings, pull quotes, and formal collateral such as invitations or programs.

The overall tone is classic and literary, projecting a composed, authoritative voice suited to long-form reading and formal presentation. Its crisp contrast and traditional detailing add refinement and a subtly historical flavor without feeling ornamental.

The design appears intended as a conventional reading serif that blends strong tradition with crisp, modern contrast. It prioritizes an even text rhythm, familiar letterforms, and elegant finishing to convey credibility and polish across extended passages and formal display use.

Capitals have a stately presence with generous internal counters (C, O, G) and clean, restrained serifs; the lowercase shows familiar text-face structures with a two-storey a and g and a softly flowing italicless construction. The ampersand is compact and traditional, and punctuation maintains the same sharp hairline finishing seen throughout.
