A distressed, hand-drawn serif with thin stems and sharp, broken terminals that look like dry brush or rough ink on paper. Letterforms are generally upright with a slightly wavering baseline and uneven stroke continuity, producing intermittent gaps, ragged edges, and occasional blotting. Serifs are suggested rather than formally constructed, appearing as chipped wedges or hooked flicks, while curves (O, C, G) show irregular outlines and variable counter shapes. Proportions vary from glyph to glyph, with compact bowls and narrow apertures balanced by long, spindly ascenders and descenders in the lowercase.

Works best for display settings where texture and atmosphere are desirable—horror or occult-themed titles, Halloween promos, game titles and UI accents, album artwork, and poster headlines. It can also support short editorial pull quotes or chapter openers when a rough, antiquated voice is needed, but the distressed detailing may overwhelm long passages at smaller sizes.

The overall tone is ominous and antique, mixing a medieval manuscript feel with a worn, DIY grit. Its scratchy texture reads as aged, imperfect, and slightly unsettling—well suited to dark storytelling or atmospheric titling where roughness is part of the message.

The design appears intended to evoke aged print and hand-inked lettering, emphasizing an irregular, broken stroke texture and medieval-leaning shapes for dramatic impact. It prioritizes mood and surface character over uniformity, aiming to feel organic, worn, and theatrically dark.

In the sample text, the irregular edge texture remains prominent at display sizes and creates a lively, noisy rhythm across lines. The lowercase includes distinctive, calligraphic quirks (notably in j, k, y, and z), and the numerals follow the same eroded, ink-worn construction, keeping texture consistent across the set.
