A classic serif with strong thick–thin modulation and sharply defined, bracketed serifs. Curves show a diagonal stress and a slightly calligraphic construction, while joins and terminals stay crisp rather than rounded. Proportions are moderately wide with generous counters, producing an even, readable rhythm in text; capitals are stately with well-balanced widths (notably a wide O and an expressive Q with a sweeping tail). Lowercase forms include a two-storey a and g, a compact, sturdy r, and a descendered y with a pronounced curved tail; numerals appear oldstyle, with varied heights and extenders that blend naturally with lowercase text.

Well-suited to long-form reading environments such as books, essays, and editorial layouts where a classic serif voice is desired. It can also serve effectively for headings and pull quotes when a traditional, cultivated tone is appropriate.

The overall tone is bookish and authoritative, with a traditional, editorial feel. High contrast and sharp finishing details add refinement and a sense of formality without becoming ornate.

The design appears intended as a conventional, versatile text serif that draws on calligraphic modulation and oldstyle detailing to deliver comfortable readability with a distinctly traditional character.

In the sample text, the face maintains clear word shapes and consistent spacing at paragraph sizes, while punctuation and symbols (such as the ampersand) match the same calligraphic tension and serif treatment as the letters.
