A rough, old-style serif with visibly distressed outlines and uneven stroke edges, as if printed from a worn plate or drawn with a dry brush. Letterforms show modest, bracket-like serifs and slightly lumpy curves, with frequent nicks, breaks, and swelling along stems that create a mottled silhouette. Proportions feel compact and somewhat narrow in the lowercase, with small counters and a restrained x-height; spacing appears slightly inconsistent, enhancing the handmade rhythm. Numerals and capitals keep the same textured treatment, with a particularly angular, diamond-like “O” shape in the uppercase that adds a carved, emblematic note.

Best for short, high-impact settings such as display headlines, book covers, game titles, posters, packaging accents, and themed ephemera. It also works for simulated archival material (labels, faux broadsides, chapter openers) where an aged-print feel is needed, while longer passages are more effective when used sparingly at larger sizes.

The texture and irregularity evoke vintage printing, folktale titles, and aged documents—expressive and imperfect rather than polished. It reads as historical and slightly ominous or mysterious, suited to atmospheric themes where grit and character are desirable.

The design appears intended to mimic antique letterpress or hand-inked type that has degraded over time, prioritizing tactile texture and atmosphere over crisp typographic neutrality. Its consistent distressing and classic serif skeleton suggest a purpose-built display face for narrative, historical, and genre-driven visual identities.

In continuous text the distressed edges add strong visual noise, so it benefits from generous size and leading. The roughness is consistent across the set, giving a cohesive, intentionally worn look rather than random degradation.
