A sturdy serif with compact proportions, strong vertical stress, and clearly bracketed wedge-like serifs. Strokes are robust and confident, with moderate thick–thin modulation that stays readable at display sizes while remaining text-capable. Terminals often finish in rounded or teardrop forms (notably in the lowercase), giving the face a slightly calligraphic finish against an otherwise disciplined, traditional structure. Counters are fairly tight and the overall color is dark and even, producing a dense, emphatic rhythm across lines.

Works well for headlines, deck copy, and editorial typography where a dense, authoritative serif can carry emphasis. It also suits book and magazine titles, pull quotes, and brand wordmarks seeking a traditional, established feel with slightly expressive lowercase details.

The tone is classic and editorial, projecting authority and seriousness with a hint of warmth from its rounded terminals. It feels bookish and traditional rather than neutral, suited to contexts that benefit from established typographic cues and a confident voice.

The design appears intended to modernize a conventional text serif with extra weight and sharper, more graphic serifs, while preserving familiar proportions for comfortable reading. The added terminal roundness in the lowercase suggests an aim to keep the tone personable and energetic rather than purely austere.

Capitals have broad, stable stances and prominent serifs that create strong horizontal anchoring, while the lowercase shows more personality through ear- and ball-like details and lively entry/exit shapes. Numerals appear sturdy and old-style in spirit, with noticeable curves and weight that match the heavy text color.
