A distressed serif with uneven, chiseled-looking contours and softly ragged terminals that mimic aged ink or worn letterpress. Strokes stay relatively even in thickness, while edges wobble and bite to create a gritty texture. The forms lean traditional and bookish in structure, but the outlines are intentionally irregular, producing a restless rhythm across words. Serifs are blunt and slightly flared, counters are compact, and curves appear subtly dented, reinforcing the weathered, hand-made feel.

Best suited to display settings such as horror and thriller titles, Halloween marketing, gothic or folklore book covers, and cinematic poster headlines. It also works for game branding, event flyers, and themed packaging where a weathered, unsettling texture is desirable. For longer passages, it benefits from generous size and spacing to keep the distressed edges legible.

The overall tone is ominous and old-world, suggesting folklore, gothic props, and historic documents gone unsettling. Its roughened silhouettes read as mysterious rather than playful, giving headlines a haunted, artifact-like presence. The texture adds tension and drama, making even simple phrases feel like they belong in a dark tale or arcane notice.

The design appears intended to merge classic serif letterforms with an intentionally degraded surface, evoking aged print, carved signage, or ink-bleed artifacts. The consistent underlying skeleton keeps it readable, while the irregular perimeter supplies the spooky, antiquarian character needed for thematic display typography.

In the sample text, the built-in roughness remains visible at larger sizes and can start to fill in or clump at smaller sizes, especially in tight counters and around serifs. The numerals and caps share the same distressed treatment, helping the set feel cohesive for display use where texture is part of the message.
