A robust serif with strongly bracketed serifs and pronounced thick–thin modulation. The forms are broad and open, with generous counters and a steady, horizontal rhythm that reads as calm and deliberate. Curves show smooth, slightly calligraphic transitions (notably in rounds like C, G, O, and the lowercases), while stems and serifs remain firm and weighty. Lowercase features include a double-storey a and g, a compact, sturdy e, and a relatively short-armed r, contributing to an overall dense, editorial texture without feeling cramped.

Well suited to headlines, editorial typography, and display applications where a traditional serif voice and strong contrast help create hierarchy. It can also work for book-cover titling and pull quotes, delivering a dense, confident texture at larger sizes.

The font conveys a classic, institutional tone—confident, formal, and bookish. Its strong serif presence and traditional proportions suggest seriousness and credibility, with a slightly old-style warmth rather than a sharp, modern chill.

The design appears intended as a conventional, high-impact serif for publishing contexts—pairing traditional, bracketed serifs and clear modulation with broad, readable shapes to produce an authoritative, classic typographic color.

Numerals appear sturdy and highly legible, with clear differentiation and substantial feet/terminals that match the letterforms. The overall color on the page is dark and even, making it especially effective for emphatic typography and short-to-medium text blocks where a strong typographic voice is desired.
