A slender old-style serif with bracketed, wedge-like serifs and a gently calligraphic stroke flow. Stems stay relatively thin while joins and curves broaden subtly, creating a measured contrast and a smooth, readable rhythm. Counters are moderately open, terminals tend toward tapered, angled cuts, and many letters show a slightly narrow footprint with tall ascenders and compact, sturdy serifs. The lowercase has a relatively tall x-height, with a two-storey “g” and a single-storey “a”, and the numerals follow the same tapered, bookish construction.

It works well for long-form reading in books and editorial layouts where a classic serif texture is desired. The tall x-height also helps at smaller sizes for body copy, while the crisp wedges and compact capitals can carry chapter heads, pull quotes, and publication branding without feeling ornate.

The overall tone is traditional and literary, balancing refinement with a slightly dramatic, sharp-edged elegance. It feels suited to classic publishing aesthetics—serious, composed, and quietly authoritative rather than decorative.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional, readable text serif with a slightly sharpened, contemporary crispness in its serifs and terminals. It aims for a polished page texture that feels traditional and dependable, with enough character for editorial voice.

The face maintains a consistent vertical color while letting individual letters show subtle, humanist shaping in bowls and shoulders. Uppercase forms are stately and compact, and the italic-like liveliness comes from angled terminals and wedge serifs rather than any slant.
