A sharp, traditional serif with compact proportions and a steady vertical rhythm. Stems and main strokes subtly flare as they approach the terminals, with bracketed serifs that feel sculpted rather than flat. Curves are smooth and controlled, with moderately tight apertures in letters like C, S, and e, and round forms that stay slightly condensed. The lowercase shows a two-storey a and g, a crisp beak on r, and a modestly sized eye in e; numerals are upright and bookish, with old-style influence in their proportions and small detailing.

Well suited to book typography, magazine and newspaper layouts, and other editorial settings where a traditional serif voice is desired. It can also serve effectively in headlines, pull quotes, and branding systems that want a refined, heritage-leaning presence while staying clean and readable.

The overall tone is classical and editorial, projecting seriousness and authority without feeling overly ornate. Its flared endings and slightly calligraphic stress add a quiet warmth that reads as literary and established, suited to institutions and long-standing brands.

The design appears intended to modernize an inscriptional, flared-serif tradition for contemporary publishing: compact, authoritative, and consistent in running text, with enough sculptural detail in terminals and serifs to add personality at display sizes.

In text, the face maintains an even color and a confident baseline, with clear differentiation between similar forms (notably I/l/1) through serifing and proportion. The capitals carry a dignified, inscriptional character—especially in letters like R, Q, and W—while the lowercase keeps a calm, book-oriented cadence.
