A compact serif with tapered, slightly calligraphic stroke modulation and bracketing that softens the joins into the serifs. Stems subtly flare toward terminals, and the serifs read as wedge-like rather than rectangular, giving the letterforms a gently sculpted finish. Counters are relatively tight and the overall texture is dense and even, with firm verticals and clean curves that stay controlled in text. Capitals feel tall and composed, while the lowercase maintains a compact silhouette with clear, traditional construction.

Well-suited to printed reading environments such as books, journals, and editorial layouts where a compact serif can maintain a consistent text color. It can also serve in headings, pull quotes, and institutional branding that benefits from a traditional, crafted voice.

The tone is bookish and traditional, with a quiet authority that feels suited to established institutions and long-form reading. Its restrained contrast and flared endings add a touch of craft and warmth without becoming decorative, keeping the overall impression polished and dependable.

The design appears intended to provide a classical reading serif with a hint of calligraphic influence, using flared terminals and bracketed serifs to create a refined, print-oriented texture. It prioritizes steady rhythm and controlled detailing for comfortable, authoritative typography.

In the sample text, spacing and rhythm produce a cohesive, darker page color, and the numerals follow the same tapered, old-style sensibility as the letters. The flared terminals are most noticeable on vertical strokes and at the ends of curves, contributing to a subtly engraved, editorial character.
