This serif italic shows pronounced thick–thin modulation with sharp hairlines and gently bracketed serifs. Letterforms are narrow-to-moderate in their set with lively, calligraphic construction: diagonals and curves carry an oblique stress, and many strokes finish in tapered, slightly teardrop terminals. Capitals are clean and relatively open, while the lowercase has a flowing rhythm with tall ascenders, compact bowls, and a modest, readable x-height. Numerals appear oldstyle-inspired in feel, with slanted forms and varied proportions that match the text’s cursive momentum.

Well-suited to long-form reading in books and essays, as well as editorial typography where an italic voice is needed for emphasis, quotes, or captions. It can also serve in refined display roles—literary titles, program notes, and formal stationery—especially when paired with a compatible roman for contrast and hierarchy.

The overall tone is traditional and polished, with a distinctly bookish, editorial elegance. Its motion and crisp contrast add sophistication and a hint of formality without becoming overly ornate.

The design appears intended as a classic italic companion for conventional serif text typography, prioritizing a smooth reading rhythm and a cultivated, traditional voice. Its calligraphic cues and crisp modulation aim to deliver elegance and emphasis while remaining anchored in familiar text-serif proportions.

Spacing and rhythm favor continuous text: the italic angle is consistent, joins are crisp, and counters stay open enough to prevent the high-contrast strokes from collapsing at typical reading sizes. The ampersand is notably decorative compared to the rest, adding a small flourish for display moments within text.
