A sharply constructed blackletter with steep vertical stress, crisp broken curves, and pronounced, blade-like terminals. Strokes show strong modulation, with dense vertical stems contrasted by thin connecting hairlines and interior counters that stay relatively tight. Uppercase forms are elaborate and crest-like, featuring pointed arches, split strokes, and occasional internal striping; lowercase remains more compact and rhythmic, built from narrow, faceted minims with clear diamond-like joins. Overall spacing feels traditional for the genre—dark in texture, with lively irregularities between letters that create a distinctly variable rhythm across words.

Best suited to display applications such as mastheads, editorial headlines, book or album titles, posters, and themed packaging where a historic or ceremonial voice is desired. It can also work for invitations and certificates when generous size and spacing are available to preserve the internal detail and sharp joins.

The font carries a formal, medieval tone associated with manuscripts, heraldry, and old-world proclamation. Its sharp angles and high-contrast calligraphic cuts convey authority and ritual, while the ornate capitals add a sense of pageantry and tradition.

The design appears intended to emulate traditional broad-nib blackletter construction with dramatic stroke modulation and angular, faceted forms, prioritizing historic atmosphere and decorative impact. Prominent, embellished capitals suggest a focus on headline settings and initial-cap emphasis rather than neutral body text.

In running text, the heavy vertical patterning produces a strong “black” texture, and the ornate capitals can dominate at smaller sizes. Numerals follow the same broken-stroke logic, keeping the set visually cohesive for titles and decorative display lines.
