A decorative serif with blackletter influence, built from strong vertical strokes and sharply chamfered corners that create a faceted, engraved look. Serifs are wedge-like and angular rather than rounded, and many joins and terminals resolve into crisp points or clipped angles. Counters tend to be compact with squared or octagonal inner shapes (notably in O, D, and 8), reinforcing a carved, architectural rhythm. Uppercase forms are sturdy and columnar, while lowercase introduces more variation and distinctive, calligraphic inflections (such as the single-storey a and the descending j), yet keeps the same hard-edged finishing throughout. Numerals share the same chiseled construction, with straight-sided forms and decisive diagonals.

Well-suited to display settings where a historic or authoritative voice is desired: headlines, posters, mastheads, labels, and logo wordmarks. It can also work for short, emphatic subheads or pull quotes, but extended body text may feel heavy because of its compact counters and assertive detailing.

The overall tone feels medieval and ceremonial, with a stern, traditional gravitas. Its sharp, inscribed detailing suggests craftsmanship and authority, evoking signage, crests, and historical print rather than contemporary minimalism.

The design appears intended to translate blackletter/Old English cues into a more structured, typographic display serif with consistent, beveled geometry. It prioritizes impact and period character, aiming for a carved or stamped presence that stays legible in short phrases.

Texture becomes dense in long text due to the narrow apertures and frequent angular terminals, producing a strong, dark color on the line. The design reads best when given enough size and spacing to let the internal facets and chamfers remain distinct.
