A heavy, wide serif with sharply tapered hairlines and pronounced thick–thin modeling. Serifs are crisp and triangular/bracketed in feel, with an incised, engraved-like finish on corners and joins. Many lowercase forms show rounded ball terminals and teardrop-like endings, giving the rhythm a sculpted, high-contrast texture. Counters are relatively compact against the dense stems, and overall spacing reads sturdy and deliberate, favoring strong silhouettes over airy text color.

Best suited to headlines, cover lines, and short passages where its contrast and width can read clearly and feel intentional. It can work well for editorial design, book and album covers, and identity systems that want a classic serif with extra visual drama. For smaller sizes, it will benefit from generous leading and careful spacing to maintain clarity around the fine hairlines.

The face conveys a confident, traditional voice with a slightly theatrical edge. Its strong contrast and expansive proportions feel ceremonial and headline-forward, suggesting heritage, authority, and a classic publishing tone.

The design appears intended to modernize a conventional serif model by amplifying contrast and width while adding engraved, calligraphic terminal details for character. It prioritizes impact and a refined, classic tone, making it a natural choice for display and editorial typography.

The numerals and capitals carry especially weighty top and bottom strokes, while the lowercase introduces more calligraphic detail (notably in curved letters and terminals), creating a lively, engraved contrast between structural strength and ornamental finishing. At larger sizes the sharp hairlines and pointed serif tips become a defining character feature.
