This is a robust serif with a pronounced rightward slant and sturdy, bracketed serifs. Strokes show a moderate thick–thin rhythm with rounded joins and softly tapered terminals, giving the letterforms a carved, ink-driven feel rather than a purely mechanical construction. Proportions are generous with broad capitals and ample counters; curves are full and slightly compressed by the italic angle, while horizontals remain firm and steady. Numerals and capitals read solid and stately, while the lowercase shows lively italic movement with clearly differentiated shapes and compact, rounded bowls.

It performs especially well in headlines, subheads, and other display settings where the strong italic stance and sturdy serifs can carry personality. It can also serve in short-to-medium text passages for editorial layouts or book-jacket copy when a traditional serif with added emphasis is desired.

The overall tone is classic and assertive, combining a bookish, traditional voice with a forward-leaning sense of momentum. It feels authoritative without becoming stiff, projecting a confident editorial character suitable for emphatic, high-contrast typographic statements.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional text-serif foundation with an energetic italic emphasis, pairing classic bracketed serifs and oldstyle proportions with a heavier, more attention-grabbing presence. It aims for legibility and authority while maintaining a dynamic, expressive rhythm.

Serifs are clearly braced and somewhat beaked on key forms, reinforcing an oldstyle influence. The italic slant is consistent across cases, and the weight distribution stays even enough to keep dense text blocks cohesive while still looking distinctly stylized.
