A high-contrast serif with a crisp, print-oriented drawing and bracketed wedge-like serifs. Strokes show clear calligraphic stress with strong thick–thin modulation, especially in curved letters and the diagonals of V/W/X. Proportions feel balanced and bookish: capitals are sturdy and slightly wide, lowercase has a moderate x-height with distinct ascenders and descenders, and spacing reads even and composed in text. Details like the angled crossbar on the e, the two-storey a, and the firm, sculpted numerals reinforce a conventional text-seriffed structure with sharp, clean terminals.

Well suited to long-form reading in books and editorial layouts where a traditional serif texture is desired. It also works effectively for headings, pull quotes, and formal communications that benefit from a classic, authoritative typographic tone.

The overall tone is traditional and serious, evoking editorial typography and institutional print. Its contrast and refined serifs lend a sense of authority and polish, while the steady rhythm keeps it readable and composed.

The design appears intended as a conventional, highly legible text serif with refined contrast and familiar letter constructions. Its emphasis on crisp serifs, controlled rhythm, and classical proportions suggests a goal of dependable readability and a timeless editorial character.

In the sample text, the design holds together well at larger text sizes, with strong word shapes and clear differentiation between similar forms. The Q’s tail, the crisp entry/exit strokes on S and C, and the energetic diagonals in v/w/y add a subtle liveliness without departing from a conservative text voice.
