This typeface uses a broken, angular construction with strong vertical stems and faceted curves that read as carved or pen-cut forms. Terminals frequently end in sharp wedges and small spur-like flicks, giving the outlines a chiseled, calligraphic finish. Counters are compact and the overall rhythm is tightly paced, with consistent dark masses and crisp interior cut-ins that create a notched texture along bowls and joins. Capitals are robust and decorative without excessive flourishes, while the lowercase maintains a disciplined, upright texture with distinctive Gothic-style shapes and pointed joins.

Best suited for large-size display settings where its angular details and dark texture can read clearly, such as posters, headlines, album or book covers, and editorial mastheads. It can also work for branding in contexts that call for historic or gothic associations, but will feel dense for long passages at small sizes.

The overall tone feels medieval and ceremonial, projecting authority and tradition with a dramatic, old-world presence. Its dense black texture and sharp detailing suggest heritage, formality, and a slightly ominous or theatrical mood.

The design appears intended to evoke traditional blackletter craftsmanship with bold, legible silhouettes and restrained ornamentation. Its consistent wedge terminals and broken strokes prioritize a strong period voice and high visual impact in display typography.

In running text the face forms a strong, continuous blackletter color, with clear differentiation between many capitals and a lively pattern of wedges and internal cuts. Numerals follow the same angular, spurred logic and maintain the font’s heavy, engraved character.
