A conventional text serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and a steady vertical rhythm. Serifs are bracketed and sharply finished, with crisp wedge-like joins and tapered terminals that keep the color lively without becoming spiky. Capitals are stately and moderately wide, with open bowls and clear interior counters; the lowercase shows a traditional book-face structure with a two-storey a, a double-storey g, and a compact, readable texture. Numerals appear oldstyle with varying heights and descenders, blending naturally into running text.

Well-suited to book interiors, essays, and editorial layouts where a familiar serif texture and clear hierarchy are needed. It also works effectively for academic documents and print materials that benefit from a traditional, authoritative typographic voice.

The overall tone is traditional and cultivated, evoking book typography and established editorial design. Its contrast and crisp finishing give it a refined, slightly formal voice suited to serious, text-driven communication.

The design appears intended as a dependable, conventional reading serif that balances strong contrast with stable proportions for comfortable, long-form text. Its classic letterforms and oldstyle figures suggest an emphasis on timeless typography and seamless integration in editorial and literary settings.

Round letters (C, O, Q) maintain smooth curves with subtle calligraphic stress, while diagonals (V, W, Y) stay clean and controlled. The lowercase has a familiar, workmanlike cadence that supports longer reading, and the ampersand follows a classic, text-friendly construction.
