A bold, high-contrast serif with strongly bracketed serifs and a decidedly oldstyle, calligraphic skeleton. Curves are full and rounded with pronounced thick–thin modulation, while joins and shoulders stay smooth rather than angular. Several lowercase forms show soft, teardrop-like terminals (notably on c, e, and s) and ball terminals on letters such as j, giving the face a warm, slightly ornamental texture. Proportions are conventional for text use, with sturdy verticals, generous counters, and a slightly lively rhythm from the varied stroke endings and width distribution.

Best suited to headlines, subheads, and short-to-medium editorial text where a strong, traditional serif voice is desired. It can add character to book and magazine typography, cover titling, pull quotes, and branded editorial systems that benefit from a classic, slightly decorative finish.

The overall tone is classic and bookish, projecting authority without feeling rigid. Its bold presence and traditional detailing suggest an editorial voice—confident, slightly formal, and a touch expressive rather than purely utilitarian.

The design appears intended to modernize a conventional text-serif foundation with a heavier, more emphatic weight and expressive, calligraphy-influenced terminals. The goal seems to be a readable, authoritative face that still carries personality through its rounded forms and distinctive finishing details.

In the sample text, the heavy weight and contrast create strong word shapes and a dark color on the page, with distinctive terminals that become a key identifying feature at display sizes. The numerals appear oldstyle (with ascenders/descenders), reinforcing a traditional, literary flavor.
