A classic serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and crisp, bracketed serifs. The letterforms show oldstyle influence in the lowercase: a two-storey “a,” a distinctive looped “g,” and gently tapered strokes that suggest a broad-nib rhythm. Counters are moderately open and the curves are smooth and controlled, while terminals and joins stay sharp enough to keep the texture lively at display sizes. Uppercase proportions feel traditional and steady, with the numeral set matching the same contrast and serif treatment for a consistent page color.

Well-suited to long-form reading environments such as books, essays, and editorial layouts where a traditional serif voice is desired. It also performs strongly for magazine headlines, chapter titles, and quoted material, where the contrast and crisp serifs can provide elegant emphasis without feeling decorative.

The font reads as established and bookish, with a refined, editorial tone. Its contrast and sharp finishing details lend a sense of formality and sophistication, while the oldstyle lowercase shapes keep it warm and literary rather than sterile.

The design appears intended as a conventional, literature-oriented serif that balances readability with a polished, high-contrast presence. It aims to deliver a familiar typographic voice for professional publishing while providing enough stroke contrast and finishing detail to stand out in display applications.

In text, the rhythm is even and composed, with clear differentiation between similar forms (notably the looped “g” and the serifed “I”). The overall texture remains smooth, but the high-contrast strokes and delicate hairlines will visually assert themselves more as size increases, making the face especially confident for headings and pull quotes.
