A robust serif with pronounced stroke contrast and confident, sculpted forms. Serifs are clearly bracketed and slightly flared, giving a carved, bookish texture rather than a rigid or geometric feel. Curves are full and dark in the bowls, with crisp joins and tapered terminals; several lowercase letters show ball-like terminals (notably on forms such as a, c, f, j, y), adding a subtly decorative rhythm. The caps are broad and steady, with a strong vertical emphasis and a solid baseline presence, while the lowercase maintains a conventional x-height and generous counters for a dense, readable color in text.

Well suited to book typography, long-form editorial layouts, and magazine text where a classic serif texture is desired. Its sturdy forms and high contrast also make it effective for headlines, pull quotes, and packaging or labels that benefit from a traditional, premium voice.

The overall tone is traditional and authoritative, evoking classic publishing and institutional typography. Its weight and contrast create a sense of gravity and seriousness, while the rounded terminals soften the voice just enough to feel literary rather than austere.

The design appears intended as a conventional text serif with a strong, darker presence and a touch of traditional ornament via ball terminals and bracketed serifs. It aims to balance familiar readability with enough character to hold up in editorial display settings.

The numerals read as oldstyle figures with varying heights and prominent curves, reinforcing a text-first personality. In the sample paragraphs the spacing and letterfit produce a dark, even page color that favors strong hierarchy at larger sizes and durable readability in print-like settings.
