A robust serif with pronounced stroke modulation and bracketed serifs that taper into crisp, slightly flared terminals. The letterforms show a calligraphic influence: curved strokes swell and thin noticeably, joins are rounded, and several lowercase characters (notably a, e, g, y) feature soft, ball-like terminals. Proportions are moderately compact with strong vertical emphasis and clear differentiation between thick stems and hairline links; counters remain open enough to hold up at text sizes. Numerals appear oldstyle in character, with varied heights and prominent curves that match the lowercase rhythm.

It performs well in editorial typography where a strong serif texture is desired—book typography, magazine features, and newspaper-style headlines. The weight and contrast also make it effective for titles, pull quotes, and heritage-leaning branding that benefits from a traditional, literary voice.

The overall tone is classic and bookish, projecting authority and tradition rather than neutrality. Its heavy presence and refined contrast feel suited to serious, established voices—more “publisher” and “institution” than “tech” or “casual.”

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional reading serif with heightened presence: a darker, more assertive color on the page while retaining classical serif detailing and a calligraphic rhythm for comfortable long-form setting.

Capitals are stately and sculpted, with subtle curvature and tapered finishing that keeps the weight from feeling blunt. The lowercase has a lively texture thanks to rounded joins and terminal detailing, giving paragraphs a distinctly editorial color.
