A high-contrast italic serif with sharply tapered strokes and pronounced thick–thin modulation throughout. Serifs are finely bracketed and angular, with crisp entry/exit terminals that give the letters a precise, engraved feel. The italic construction shows a steady rightward slant, narrow internal apertures, and lively, calligraphic joins; curves (notably in C, G, O, and S) are smooth and controlled, while diagonals in V/W/X and the arms of K/R are taut and clean. Lowercase forms follow a traditional oldstyle pattern with a modest x-height, long extenders, and a single-storey a, plus a compact, ear-bearing g; numerals inherit the same contrast and slanted rhythm.

Well-suited to editorial typography, book interiors, and literary or cultural contexts where a classic italic voice is needed for emphasis or primary setting. It can also serve in formal branding, invitations, and packaging that benefit from an elegant, traditional serif presence.

The overall tone is cultivated and bookish, projecting a sense of tradition and authority with a polished, elegant finish. Its italic energy reads confident rather than playful, suggesting refinement and editorial seriousness.

Designed to deliver a conventional text-serif italic with strong classical cues—tight, controlled letterforms, refined bracketing, and dramatic contrast—aimed at producing a sophisticated, authoritative reading voice.

Spacing and rhythm feel intentionally varied in the italic, with letterforms that create a flowing text color rather than a rigid, mechanical texture. The high contrast and fine details are visually striking at display sizes, while the long extenders and sharp serifs contribute to a distinctly classical texture in continuous text.
