A high-contrast serif with crisp, bracketed serifs and a steady vertical stress. Strokes transition from thick stems to hairline terminals with clean, slightly calligraphic modulation, giving capitals a stately, engraved feel. Proportions are moderately narrow with a relatively short x-height and generous ascenders, producing an airy rhythm in mixed-case text. The lowercase shows traditional serif construction with compact bowls and tapered joins, while numerals appear oldstyle with varying heights and pronounced thick–thin contrast.

Well-suited to book typography, long-form editorial layouts, and magazine features where a traditional serif voice is desired. It also works effectively for formal collateral such as invitations, programs, and institutional communications, especially when set with comfortable leading and slightly larger sizes to preserve the fine hairlines.

The font reads as classic and authoritative, with a bookish elegance that suggests established publishing traditions. Its sharp contrast and poised serifs create a formal tone suited to considered, serious messaging rather than casual or utilitarian settings.

The design appears intended as a conventional, high-contrast text serif that balances readability with a refined, classical presence. Its proportions and detailed serif treatment aim to create a familiar, authoritative texture for professional publishing and formal documents.

Round letters maintain smooth curvature without becoming geometric, and terminals stay disciplined and clean rather than overly decorative. At larger sizes the hairlines and fine joins contribute to a polished, premium look, while in dense settings the short x-height emphasizes a traditional, literary texture.
