A high-contrast serif with broad, open proportions and sharply tapered terminals. Strokes shift dramatically between thick verticals and hairline joins, with crisp, bracketed serifs that often flare into pointed, wedge-like tips. The letterforms feel expansive and slightly display-leaning: bowls are generous, counters are open, and diagonals (as in V/W/X/Y) are thin and cutting. Lowercase shows a sturdy, text-like construction with a two-storey a and g, compact apertures, and a long-armed f; numerals are similarly high-contrast with pronounced curves and fine joins.

Best suited to headlines, magazine layouts, and book cover typography where contrast and sharp detailing can be appreciated. It can work for pull quotes and short-form editorial text, especially at moderate sizes with sufficient leading, and for branding that aims for a classic, high-end voice.

The overall tone is refined and traditional, with an editorial seriousness that reads as confident and slightly dramatic. Its sharp hairlines and sculpted serifs lend a cultured, literary feel suited to premium, formal typography rather than casual or utilitarian settings.

The design appears intended to modernize a conventional text serif with more expansive proportions and heightened contrast, delivering a polished editorial presence. Its combination of open forms and sharp, tapered detailing suggests a focus on expressive readability for display and premium publishing contexts.

Spacing and rhythm appear relatively even in text, but the strong thick–thin modulation and pointed terminals make the face feel more assertive at larger sizes. The wide set and open counters help preserve clarity, while the finest hairlines will be most comfortable when printing or rendering conditions are favorable.
