A sturdy slab-serif design with clear vertical stress and noticeable contrast between thick stems and finer hairlines. Serifs are square and prominent, generally bracketed into the stems, giving a solid, grounded footprint without feeling overly heavy. Curves are smooth and fairly open, with crisp joins and consistent, controlled stroke modulation. The lowercase shows a rounded, readable texture with a two-storey “a” and “g,” a compact “e,” and a “t” with a straightforward crossbar; spacing reads even and text-oriented. Numerals are lining and proportionally balanced, with a distinctive “2” featuring a flat, slabby base and an “8” with tighter upper bowl.

Well-suited for body text in books, long-form editorial layouts, and report-style documents where clarity and a stable typographic voice are priorities. It also works effectively for headlines and subheads when a traditional, authoritative slab-serif tone is desired, particularly in print and PDF reading contexts.

The overall tone is dependable and editorial, evoking book typography and institutional communication. It feels serious and established, with just enough warmth from the bracketed slabs to avoid a purely mechanical look. The rhythm is calm and formal, suited to content that benefits from authority and clarity.

The design appears intended as a plainspoken slab-serif workhorse: firm serifs, controlled contrast, and familiar letter structures aimed at reliable readability. Its balanced proportions and restrained detailing suggest a focus on versatile text setting with an understated, classic presence.

In text, the font maintains a steady baseline and a slightly compact, controlled color; the slab serifs help letterforms lock together cleanly. Uppercase forms read stately and traditional, while the lowercase keeps a practical, workmanlike cadence. The strong serif presence improves word-shape definition, especially in longer lines.
