This is an italic serif with a calm, book-oriented rhythm and clearly bracketed serifs. Strokes show noticeable (but not extreme) modulation, with gently tapered joins and smooth curves that keep counters open. The italic angle is consistent across capitals and lowercase, and the letterforms avoid excessive flourish—favoring clean terminals, measured spacing, and a steady baseline. Capitals are relatively restrained and well-proportioned, while lowercase forms maintain a clear, readable texture; numerals appear lining and integrate with the same italic cadence.

It performs best in extended reading and editorial settings such as books, articles, and magazine features, especially for italic emphasis within a serif text system. The refined italics also suit formal collateral—programs, invitations, and quotations—where a traditional voice and graceful slant are desired.

The overall tone is traditional and composed, with a distinctly literary, editorial feel. It reads as cultured and formal without becoming ornate, making it suitable for contexts that want elegance and credibility rather than display-level drama.

The design appears intended as a dependable, conventional italic for text typography: expressive enough to provide emphasis and tonal contrast, yet controlled in detail to maintain readability and an even typographic color in paragraphs.

Distinctive italic structures are evident in letters like the single-storey italic-style “a” and the flowing “f,” while the “g” and “y” show gently extended descenders that add movement without disrupting text color. Serifs and terminals remain crisp in small details, helping preserve definition in continuous reading.
