This is a high-contrast italic serif with a pronounced calligraphic axis and crisp, bracketed wedge-like serifs. Strokes taper sharply into terminals, creating a lively, slightly sparkling texture in running text. Uppercase forms are relatively upright for an italic, with broad proportions and clear serif articulation, while the lowercase shows more cursive influence—single-storey a and g, a slanted e with a soft entry, and a long, flowing f. Numerals lean consistently and mix firm vertical stems with rounded bowls, maintaining the same sharp tapering and contrast behavior as the letters.

It works well for editorial typography where an italic voice is needed for emphasis, introductions, pull quotes, and section heads. The strong contrast and sharp terminals also make it effective in larger sizes for magazine headlines, literary covers, and formal brand statements, while remaining legible enough for shorter text passages when set with comfortable spacing.

The overall tone is traditional and cultured, with an expressive italic rhythm that feels suited to literature, scholarship, and classic branding. Its sharp, elegant details and energetic slant convey refinement and a slightly dramatic, old-world warmth rather than a neutral, modern voice.

The design appears intended to provide a classic, high-contrast italic companion with a distinctly calligraphic flavor—more expressive than a purely utilitarian text italic, yet disciplined enough to sit comfortably in conventional typography. Its tapered serifs and traditional proportions aim for elegance and authority, supporting both literary readability and display-level character.

The italic construction is coherent across caps, lowercase, and figures, with noticeable stroke modulation and compact joins that keep counters open at display sizes. The rhythm in the sample text is dynamic, with diagonal stress and pointed terminals adding emphasis to word shapes and giving headings a distinctive, crafted presence.
