A compact, heavy serif with pronounced flared terminals that widen into wedge-like endings, giving strokes a carved, sculptural feel. The design is tightly proportioned with a strong vertical rhythm and relatively small apertures, creating dense, dark word shapes. Serifs and terminals are crisp and angular rather than bracketed, with a generally even stroke weight and only subtle modulation. Counters are sturdy and squarish in places, and the overall texture reads assertive and compact in both uppercase and lowercase.

Best suited for headlines, mastheads, book covers, and packaging where a concentrated, high-impact serif is needed. It can work for short editorial callouts and subheads, especially with added spacing, but is most compelling when used to create strong typographic hierarchy and presence.

The tone is forceful and traditional, with a slightly theatrical, old-world gravity. Its sharp flares and compact massing evoke classic display typography used for emphasis—confident, declarative, and a bit stern—while still feeling orderly and controlled.

The design appears intended to deliver maximum emphasis within a narrow footprint, using flared, wedge-like terminals to add character and stability without relying on delicate contrast. It aims for a classic, display-forward serif voice that stays legible and bold at large sizes while projecting tradition and authority.

At text sizes the tight spacing and heavy interior shapes can make long passages feel dense; it visually rewards generous tracking and line spacing. The numerals share the same blocky, flared construction, reinforcing a consistent, poster-like color across letters and figures.
