This is an italic serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and a steady rightward slant. Letterforms show tapered, calligraphic joins and bracketed serifs, with frequent ball terminals and softly cupped entry/exit strokes that give the curves a polished, inked feel. Capitals are compact and sturdy with crisp wedge-like finishing, while lowercase forms are more fluid and varied, featuring lively ascenders, a single-storey a, and a long, curling descender on g. Numerals echo the same contrast and italic stress, with generous curves and tapered terminals that keep the set cohesive.

It works particularly well for editorial typography where italic is used for emphasis, quotes, introductions, and pull lines, and it can also serve as a refined display italic for headlines and subheads. The high-contrast shapes and elegant terminals make it a strong choice for formal print applications such as invitations, programs, and premium brand collateral where a classic serif voice is desired.

The overall tone is refined and traditional, with an unmistakably bookish, editorial character. Its energetic italics and ornamental terminals lend a sense of sophistication and emphasis, suitable for expressive but still conventional typography.

The design appears intended as a conventional, highly polished italic serif that brings traditional literary authority while adding flourish through calligraphic terminals and lively curvature. It aims to balance readability with expressive italic character, offering a confident emphasis style for text-focused layouts.

Rhythm is driven by strong diagonal stress and tapered strokes, producing a bright, sparkling texture at text sizes. The design includes several distinctive gesture points—such as the looping g and the more decorative ampersand—that read as intentional display accents within an otherwise text-oriented italic.
