A wide, high-contrast serif with strongly bracketed, flared terminals and a crisp vertical stress. The forms show pronounced thick–thin modulation, sturdy main stems, and tapered arms and joins that create a slightly calligraphic, oldstyle texture. Serifs are sculpted rather than slabby, with noticeable bracketing and occasional spur-like finishing on letters such as C, G, S, and T. Lowercase shapes are open and readable, with a two-storey a and g, rounded bowls, and modestly long extenders that give lines an elegant, spacious rhythm.

Well-suited to editorial layouts, book typography, and magazine work where a classic serif voice and strong typographic color are desired. The generous width and contrast also make it effective for headlines, pull quotes, and refined display settings such as formal announcements or invitations when ample spacing is available.

The overall tone is classic and literary, suggesting traditional print typography with a confident, formal presence. Its broad proportions and sharp contrast add a stately, editorial feel that reads as established and authoritative rather than casual or utilitarian.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional, print-oriented serif with a slightly oldstyle, calligraphic finish—balancing tradition and clarity while providing a broader, more expansive footprint for confident typographic presence.

At text sizes the face produces a strong black-and-white rhythm, with slightly animated terminals and bracketing that add character without becoming decorative. The numerals share the same contrast and serif treatment, helping them sit comfortably alongside the letters in running text and headings.
