A classic text serif with bracketed serifs, gently flared stroke endings, and moderate stroke modulation that reads as traditional rather than high-fashion. Proportions are balanced and slightly compact in the lowercase, with a steady rhythm and clear counters. The capitals show crisp wedge-like terminals and a reserved, bookish presence, while the lowercase includes oldstyle features such as a two-storey “a,” a double-storey “g,” and a compact “e” with a horizontal crossbar. Numerals appear oldstyle (text figures), with varying heights and ascenders/descenders that blend naturally into running text.

Well suited to long-form reading in books, essays, and editorial layouts where a familiar serif texture and comfortable rhythm are desired. It also works for institutional print materials—reports, journals, and program text—where a traditional voice and strong typographic conventions are important.

The overall tone is conventional and cultured, evoking printed books, editorial typography, and institutional communication. It feels dependable and articulate, with a subtle calligraphic warmth that keeps it from looking overly mechanical.

The design appears intended as a general-purpose, book-oriented serif that prioritizes readability and a timeless typographic color. Its oldstyle numerals and restrained detailing suggest it was drawn to sit comfortably in continuous text while still offering a quietly refined, classical impression.

Curves are smooth and slightly oval with a noticeable diagonal stress, and joins are clean without exaggerated ball terminals. The “Q” shows a restrained tail treatment, and diagonals (e.g., V/W/Y) finish in sharp, tapered terminals that add a lightly chiseled character.
