A robust serif with compact proportions and strongly bracketed serifs that flare smoothly into the stems. Strokes are fairly even with gentle contrast, giving the design a steady, text-forward rhythm rather than a high-fashion snap. Curves are full and slightly squarish in places, and several joins show subtle notch-like shaping that keeps counters open at heavier sizes. The lowercase has sturdy, rounded bowls with a two-storey a and g, a short-armed t, and a clearly separated i/j with round dots; figures are solid and readable with classic forms (notably a looped 8 and a curved 2/3).

Well-suited to editorial typography where a strong, traditional serif voice is needed—magazine features, book interiors at larger text sizes, and section heads. The sturdy shapes and confident numerals also work for branding, labels, and packaging that benefit from a classic, established feel.

The overall tone is classic and literary, with a confident, slightly old-world presence. Its weight and firm serifs lend an editorial seriousness, while the rounded details keep it approachable rather than austere.

The design appears intended to provide a dependable, conventional reading serif with extra heft and clarity, preserving traditional forms while maintaining open counters and stable texture in running text and display settings.

The capitals read monumentally with broad shoulders and generous interior space, making them effective for headings. The italics are not shown, and spacing appears comfortable in the sample text, supporting continuous reading with a dark, even color.
