This is a high-contrast italic serif with crisp, tapered strokes and sharply bracketed serifs. The letterforms lean decisively with an energetic, calligraphic rhythm: thin hairlines connect into swelling stems, and terminals often finish in pointed, wedge-like forms. Capitals are relatively narrow and stately, while the lowercase shows more movement and curvature, with a single-storey a and g and a notably open, looped g. Numerals follow the same italic, engraved logic, with strong thick–thin modulation and delicate entry/exit strokes.

Best suited to headlines, pull quotes, cover typography, and other display-to-text crossover uses where elegance and emphasis are desired. It can also work for short-form editorial text in print-like contexts, particularly when set with generous size and leading to preserve the delicate hairlines.

The overall tone is polished and traditional, suggesting editorial sophistication and a touch of old-world luxury. Its strong slant and bright contrast create a dramatic, expressive voice that feels suited to cultured, literary contexts rather than neutral utility.

The design appears intended to provide a conventional, bookish serif voice with heightened italic expressiveness—combining classic proportions with a more dramatic, engraved contrast for emphasis and refinement in editorial and branding settings.

The pronounced contrast and fine hairlines make the texture sparkle at larger sizes, while the italic angle and sharp details can feel busy in dense settings. Spacing appears tuned for a lively, flowing line, with distinctive italic shapes that prioritize character over plainness.
